asked for!!! I can't stand the thought of

not holding him. What a wonderful

blessing and calling it is to be a Mother!!!

I love this little guy so much already

I can't imagine loving him more...

and yet each day I find my heart

growing more open to this little

bundle of sweetness!!

Gettysburg FANatic!!!!

My dad is a huge civil war buff....

he watched documentaries, he reads

books, he searches online. And no matter

how much it pains me to say this....he was

probably more excited to see Gettysburg

than me when he came to visit. ;)

Just kidding, but not about him being

way way way excited to see Gettysburg.

My poor Dad had an 18 hour trip to get to MD....

he left work at about 2 p.m. and went straight

to the airport, only to find out he was possibly not

going to make it out that night. But, luckily

a flight opened up and he made it to

Atlanta, Ga. He figured he could

catch a few winks at the airport, he had

a big day the next day.....Gettysburg!!!

Well, between the floor buffers and vacuums

my poor dad did not get very much sleep.

He made it out on the very first flight and

got to Baltimore at about 8 a.m. We thought

maybe he would want to nap a bit, take it easy

and we would hit Gettysburg the next day.

Boy, were we wrong....he wanted to go to Gettysburg.

So we packed a lunch that we could eat

when we got there and headed out.

We arrived and decided to eat first then drive

the tour. Here we are making our deliscious lunch.

So we went to the disc golf

course in Baltimore.

She has a special and unique talent

this...4 months behind...yowzers.

Alright miss Laurie you got me thinking about

this....well I was already thinking about it

but when you got all cheesy on me and added

the wicked line on Facebook it made me really

want to post on the blog.

It's funny how the Lord plays things out in your life.

When we were told we were going to Georgia

I was not excited....I wasn't totally upset I was

just NOT EXCITED!!!! I figured I had better have

6 months worth of books handy because I would be

bored out of my mind. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong.

-----------

My life really has been changed for the better!!!!

Here I am sobbing like a baby sitting at the computer

doing everything I can to stall leaving Georgia. I have

come into towns and left them saying goodbye to new friends

wondering if I would ever see them again. Wondering if

I would have a reason big enough to go back. Cherishing the

memories I had made with them. Then we go along

our way and find a new life somewhere else.

----------

I feel like I was sent here to Georgia for a reason....forget

the fact that Travis' work told us to head to the south.

I feel like there was a much greater power at work!!!

My last full week here I spent at Young Womens Camp. The

relationships that I formed with these Young Women

are PRICELESS!!!! Hearing the youth bear their testimonies

was...well....WOW!!! What spiritual giants in such tiny

little bodies. The Young Women in this ward are truly

amazing!!! They have helped to strengthen my

testimony through their example, their friendship and

bearing their own testimonies!!

----------

I am so sad to be leaving the Young Women, but I

know I will have a lasting friendship with each

and everyone of them!!! I definitely have not just one

but many reasons to come back and visit Georgia. I

will miss your beautiful smiling faces!!! I was sent

here for a reason and now I have to leave for one.

Who knows what my next little adventure will bring.

Know that wherever I end up you are always in my heart and I will

be thinking of Georgia way more than I thought I would ;)

Although I am far away I am always here for you girls.

I am only a phone call, e-mail or Facebook message away.

I may not have all the answers, but I have 2 good ears for listening.

And I can always point you to one person that knows

exactly what you are going through and knows just

how to comfort you when you need it most. Stay strong in

the Gospel that you may one day find a worthy companion

to take you through the Temple. But, don't be in to much of

a rush to get there ;) Enjoy these years, make the most of them,

and do not make decisions lightly because even the smallest choices

you make now will mold you into the Women you will be in the future!!!

My Zumba Ladies!!!!!

While here in Georgia, I discovered

Zumba and I fell in love with it....

so much that I certified to teach it.

This is a group of ladies from my morning classes

that I go to ....Lupita, in the blue pants was my first

instructor and she is so fun and has the best Zumba class

around. She let's me teach a few songs in her class

to practice with my cueing!

I am really going to miss my Mon and Wed morning

classes....they are so much my little Zumba family.

I forget that I am working out because we just are

having a party the entire hour we are together.

This below is Jaunita...she is 61 and a hoot!!!

She is the best person to have in class...

she motivates everyone and loves everyone!!!

She can Zumba with the best of them....look out

Goodbye YMCA Zumba class....I will miss you greatly!!!

Travis and I found this healthy eating

cook book and one of the recipe's was

SUSHI

we were so excited to try it.....it looked and sounded

so good....veggie sushi with avacado mmmm!!!

It was not so good..... I couldn't get used to the
texture of the seaweed wrap, and the seasoning
that they had us use was to bitter too.

Travis is sticking with cereal from now on....
no more Sushi!!!

However, Sandy loved it....sorry to say

that we will not be making her Sushi for

dinner very often though....or ever!!!!

So goodbye Sushi...you were fun to make

and that's where our relationship ends.

This last weekend my Zumba friend Laura and I

got to head out to Tuscaloosa Alabama...

for a Zumba certification class.

Oh my goodness.....it was so much work, but

so so so much fun!!! We were both sore and stiff

from all the INTENSE Zumba we did from 9-6

but we were so excited it was hard to notice....

unfortunately when we left, the party was

over and the pain arrived. But it still

wasn't to bad....just a little achy.

----------

I am happy to say that we were both shining

students throughout the day....at different points of the class

we both got selected to go on stage and booty shake with

the instructor (Eric) ;) !!!!

----------

During a choreography session

we split into about 6 different groups and had

to freestyle Zumba within our groups and
Eric would pick the choreography he liked best to

go with the song....

Well, Laura and I were the ones that

he liked the most out of our groups so we

were both picked for that too.

----------

Now we are officially Zumba instructors...

(well maybe I can't say official until we start working)

But we are certified to teach !!!!!

Oh my goodness....I am just so proud of us.

This was out instructor Eric and he was AWESOME!!!

If you ever want an amazing workout and you

are in Miami....look him up!!!

YAY for Zumba!!!!!

One thing we love about Georgia.....

is that there are about 4 Disc Golf courses

within 30 minutes of our place.

We try and get out about once a week

to play a round of golf......

yup...that's Travis in the trees......not

a very good way to start.

But, he's good enough that even with this

bad throw he will beat me.... :(

Sandy loves when we go to the course....it's at least

an hour and half of play time for her.

and....of course we have to bring her frisbee too.

Sometimes....we get a little crazy with our throws

and have to set out an an adventure to get them back

We saw this large woodpecker while

we were out one time and I had to snap a few pics.

I was about 10 feet away....pretty cool!!

If you haven't tried disc golf.....it's a lot of fun.

You should see if there are any courses near you.

You will need to get a disc made just for disc golf.

They have putters, drivers.....many varieties just for

this game..fun fun fun!!!

I often accuse Travis of not listening to me.

Boy did he prove me wrong!!!

A while ago we were out to eat at Cracker Barrel....

(which was our first time).

They told us it would be a 15 minute wait

which was just silly because we could see

like 15 open tables.

I am pretty sure they just wanted us to

browse their shop and buy something.

IT WORKED!!!

Well I didn't know that it worked....I saw these

two wallets and I loved them I showed

them to Travis and then they called our name

so we went and ate.

I woke up Valentines Day morning

(which we called Normal Sunday)

and he got me the 2 wallets and bracelet

along with flowers!!!!
Man I am so lucky I have such a thoughtful

husband. I know he loves me and listens

to me even though I tease him all the time.

I am so lucky to have found him

and that he picked me because he could

have had anyone.

Alright so in Georgia we got some snow!!!

It was so beautiful the snowflakes were so fat

and fluffy and it was really nice to get....

well not 6 Feet of snow....sorry Marylanders ;)

Christmas Day

So normally we would have our family
celebration in the morning and then
head to Knox to hang with my mom's family.
But my dad had to work.
So my mom and I had some extra time
and we decided to head up north
and discovered that NOTHING
is open on Christmas day.
We thought for sure that Walmart would be open...
but we were wrong!!!
Luckily Panda Express was open so we didn't starve
during our little Christmas day drive.

were in town, One for his school friends

We play volleyball on Friday nights

him then too. Man oh man...

So I have never been much of a reader,
however in the last 2 years I
have read about
10
books.
And that is GOOD for me.

With my dislike for books growing into a
LIKE for books. I wouldn't stretch
it into a love yet, but maybe one day.
I have been attending a book club that has
been so much fun. I will be honest and say
I haven't read the last 2 books that they have
picked. But one of them I at least started.
It was just so boring and I couldn't read anymore.

But I must say BOOK CLUBS ARE GREAT!!!!
We have snacks and talk all about relationships,
food, family, fun, men, and a little about books.
We are reading The Time Traveler's Wife for our
next book. Wish me luck...I am pretty sure I will
actually read this one..... :)

I got you good didn't I.....well I know I am so cruel.
But, here is the truth of it all.

Alright now to get down to business....
Yes I did lose my camera but then
I found it again and Travis was so happy
he didn't have to buy me a new one.

And yes our fridge was about to die....
it just wasn't keeping things cold. But my lovely
Handy Andy fixed it and now it's like we
have a new fridge.
He's so good.

because of my laziness in posting....the top two things that
were true are now lies....so at this point 4 things were lies.
OOPS......

We did wire our house with ethernet....which was
a pretty big job. But we love the fast connection we have now.

We also painted our basement....and once I get around
to doing a few touch up spots...I can show you some pictures.

No Travis and I are not pregnant. Sorry I know that
was one a lot of people were hoping to be true. :(

We are moving to Georgia for 6 months. Travis will head
out in December and I will leave shortly after that.

Travis did start playing football....and he loves it.

Yes....I got a new calling in church as the 2nd counselor
in the Young Women's program.
FUN FUN FUN!!!!!

No Travis' car did not break down....sometimes

5. We are moving to Georgia for 6 months

8. Travis started playing in a football league
9. I (Sarah) got a new calling in church

Well I went to my best friend Kim's

barbecue for the 4th of July.
She is always very crafty and festive for

So it is sort of a tradition whenever
we go to Indiana to visit my family that
we eat out at Pizza Hut.
My family is really goofy and
loud...and just plain ol' fun no matter
where we are.
I was lucky enough to spend a day with
my family on the way home from Idaho.
And let's just say that one day is all you need
for dinner at Pizza Hut....

Well A LOT has happened in the last month.
Travis and I drove 36 hours across the country
to spend a few weeks with his family.
Alright alright.....why drive? Well I wanted to drive so
we could take
SANDY......our dog!!!!
CRAZY, I know...
But it was worth it....she had a blast!

While in the Utah / Idaho area we got to

go to our newest nieces' baby blessing
be sealed in the SLC Temple.....WOO-HOO
go to an Owens family reunion
learn how to make bread
play a ton of games with the neices and nephews
get a double family in Pinnochle......crazy
and get sick.

We were able to go to our newest nieces'
baby blessing while we were in Idaho.
Her mom (Sarah) and dad (Matt)
were able to bear their testimonies ....and
we got a shout out during the testimony.
Woo Woo
It was very special and exciting and I am
happy that we could be there for Kylie
(I don't know if I spelled that right)

Travis has been searching for his one true love
ever since we left Utah. He has been without
her and has been suffering, going through
withdrawals of her sweetness.
He has exhausted all options of finding
her and was hoping that since we were
going to be in Utah he could find her once again.

But his efforts remained unfruitful.
He will never be able to feel her cold sweat
in his hands again. And her one of a kind flavor
when his lips touched her mouth would be lost forever.
The way she made him feel will slowly fade away
until it's too hard to bring back those
wonderful precious memories.
So here's to you DNL....
may your memory live on forever.

So on our 4th anniversary......
Travis and I celebrated by getting
SEALED in the
SLC TEMPLE!!!!!!!
and he said yes!!!!
....
I was a little worried
but I tried not to let it show.
I had a pretty good back-up if he did say no.
.......
I was already married to him....so he would still
have to answer to me.....hehehe

But seriously....what an amazing thing
to know that I am blessed enough to spend
the eternities with the person on this earth
I love the most. Happy Anniversary Travis
I love you so much!!!!
You have got yourself one very
happy wife right now.

We got to have some of each of our families
with us in the Temple.
We also go to have some friends of ours
that we met and had to leave in California
that were able to make it to our sealing too.

I was invited to go on a hike to
Drainey peak....

Well that sounded fun !!!
I could get a little exercise ,
enjoy the beautiful mountains,
get some clean fresh air
and visit with my family on the way.

Well....wow....that is quite a hike!!!!
but ....it sure was worth it.

I am pretty sure the hike is about
7.5 or 8 miles round trip.

On the way up the mountain there
is a natural spring where we fill our
water bottles.....Thanks Wes for
the lovely shot!!! :)

it to the top.....welcome to Drainey Peak

No it's just Sarah on the roof of her house

Crying

Yes, I am not a fan of heights and we had
some repairs to do on the roof.
So Travis told me he would need me to get on the roof
and hold the ladder while he got to the higher
roof. Well I was pretty nervous about it even
while we were talking about it. But I
thought I would be brave and if Travis needed me
I would be there for him. So I started climbing right
up that ladder.....
however when I got to the part where I actually had
to get off the ladder and climb on the roof....
I froze and started crying. Travis talked me
through it and I made it on the roof.

After being on the roof for about 10 minutes I
realized the bedroom window on the second floor
is only 3 feet above the roof and I didn't even
have to climb the ladder. So I made Travis
get down from the roof when he was done
and let me in the window.....because the scariest
part for me would have been getting down.

So I survived the roof!!!!!!

WOO-HOO

but let's not do that anymore.
Travis tried to say that maybe he wanted to
replace the roof himself and i said would that
mean I had to get up there and help?
He said yes
and I said let's pay someone else to do it.

I found a great designer......he has innovative ideas
and he really listens to your wants and needs.
Takes your feelings into consideration and is surprisingly
really great at what he does.

We were at the house late last night after moving the bedroom
set over. We spent what felt like hours trying to
arrange the bed and dresser to make them work
in the tiny space we have.

after many moves, yawns and ankle sprains (just one of these)
Travis had this brillaint idea to build a raised bed frame and
put our long dresser at the foot of the bed so the tops
at the same height. So we rearranged the room again
to see how it would look.

AND IT LOOKS AMAZING!!!!

I had no idea Travis had it in him.

Oh yeah....and we fixed the doorknob problem we were having too.
We found a really nice brushed nickel knob that I will post a picture of just
so you can see what we have.

Man, I never knew owning a home would be so hard.
Travis and I spent 45 minutes in Lowe's picking
out our favorite door knobs.
WE kept going back and forth...back and forth
and we finally came to a decision.
We had to buy a total of 5 bad/bathroom knobs
4 closet knobs
and 2 deadbolt and entry knobs.
Which adds up very quickly!!!!!!
We went with an antiqued brass knob throughout.

We get to our house and put on the first knob
.................I don't know
let's think about it before we open any other ones
........................I think it looks alright
.................I don't know
how about we leave it over night think about for
a while and we can decide.

................I think I would like silver better.
Looks like we will be spending another 45 minutes at Lowe's
If we were in a rental and needed a knob I would instantly
go for the cheapest thing I could find, but it's different
this time, because
everything just has to be perfect.
We are going to be looking at these door knobs
for a very long time.
I can't imagine...how long it will take us to pick out bigger items
I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To live a healthier lifestyle......

AND IT SUCKS

at least right now....but I am sticking to my guns!!!! Travis and I
have been exercising everyday for the past couple of weeks
and I hate Hate HATE
working out!!!! Now I love when we play some pick-up
Ultimate frisbee, racquetball, volleyball, soccer and football
(even though I am horrible at those last two). That to me is
a fun way to workout. But going to the gym... BORING!!!

Despite my hate for gyms I have been going willingly and happily to the gym with Travis.
I have tried running on the treadmill and my knees ache when I am done.
So I thought I would try the eliptical.....and other than the
fact that my feet go numb.....it is so much better on my knees.
I have never been one to run....unless it's after a frisbee or softball.
But I am really proud of myself because even though I hate running
and I have no will power to continue working out after about
5 minutes.....I keep going. I started of with 25 minutes on the eliptical
which wasn't really a problem, however I could hardly finish out
2 miles in that 25 minutes. Now I am up to 3.25 miles after 25 minutes
and I have not given up one time.

I am just really proud of myself for not giving up.

It looks like it was meant to be a garage and they converted it.

Alright this is the view from the dining room......
I hate having the bathroom right off the dining room but what
can you do....and I don't really know about the desk area
you can see the front door to the left down the little hallway.

the kitchen is behind the 4th bedroom and the dining room

Grandparents Day...

Sammy's school had Grandparents and special friends day
I had the privilege of being her special friend that day.
I took her to school that morning and went and took a seat in the gym
after having some deliscious refreshments all of the grades
K-5th grade performed musical numbers and dances for us.

When all of the music and dancing was done I got to see Sammy's class and
a little of what her day is like. They had a photographer there to take
pictures with you special friend or grandchild, and a bookfair.
Thanks again Sammy for sharing your day at school with me.
I had a blast.

But I sure do love them like they are mine....at least I think I do.
Can I really say that since I have never had any kids....how do I know.
Well if I can imagine loving my children more than these kids....WOW
that's a lot of love.

I have always loved being around kids.....ALWAYS!!!!
You never know what to expect, they are so honest, they
keep you on your toes, they are so cuddly and want to make you happy,
and on top of all that....THEY ARE THE CUTEST STINKIN THINGS AROUND!!!!!
(except for Travis that is)

Here in Maryland there are a few kids that have grown very special to me.....
I see these kids at least 3 or 4 times a week for several hours
and I love them so much!

First we have Corrina....oh what can I say about Corrina
She is gorgeous in the cutest way possible
She loves to get into everything
She just turned 2
She is very stubborn
She says thank you before you give her anything (instead of please)

Samantha is Corrina's big sister and I don't have a lot of pictures
of her because when we are all usually together.....Samantha is in school.
Sammy loves to read
she loves loves LOVES LOVES LOVES animals
and yet she is afraid of the new kitten they have :)
She loves making up stories and plays
she has the most gorgeous eyelashes ever
Now Baby Ezekial or as we call him......Mr.Bigs
is the best baby around....he is always smiling
he rarely ever cries
he loves loves LOVES LOVES food
(we took this plate away from him...of course and he threw a fit)
(FIRST TIME HE GOT REALLY MAD)
And now my little man Gabriel.....
He gave me a singing rose on Valentines day
he used to call me his girlfriend....until Sammy came along
he is really into paper airplanes right now....but his interests change weekly
he calls himself Captain Underpants and runs around in his skibbies :)

Well there is one more and her name is Annika....unfortunately I don't have any good
pictures of her because my camera can be tempermental.....ergh
Annika is another beautiful little girl that is always smiling
she has beautiful blue eyes
she is a total daddies girl
she knows more sign language than most adults
and she is a bundle of energy

Now you know all of my kids....well kinda my kids.
I love them like they are my kids....or at least I think I do...

Friendship

Last Saturday....I was able to go the Washington D.C. Temple
with my two best friends Kim and Erin.
We three have been through a lot together in a very short time.
We have laughed till we cried, leaned on one another for support,
and given to many hugs to count. Times have not been easy for our
little group of three, but together we have seen the light and made it
through the storm.
Erin had the honor of doing a session for her Grandmother....which
was an amazing experience. There wasn't a dry eye between
the three of us. Kim who is amazing at her geneology work, had several
names and I was able to do a session for her distant relative. It was an amazing
experience to share with these two women whom I have grown to love so much.
After our session we found a quiet place on the temple grounds and Kim
shared her blessing with us. She had been praying about it and just felt that
with everything that we had all gone through together it was something that
needed to be done. It was a beautiful moment and we were
all in tears by the end.....the spirit was so strong on that
tiny little bench that held us so close togeher.

I just wanted to tell Kim.....I love you like you are my Sister !!!!!!! I love your
cute little family like they are my own and I am honored that
you shared your blessing with me. I will always be here for you!!!!!
I am so happy the Lord has placed you into my life.

The worst blogger ever.....me!!!!

Alright so.....a long long time ago...I can still remember, I went to Indiana and my little sister got sealed in the Chicago, IL temple. I arrived in Indiana a week and a half before the wedding to help my mom with all of the decorating and shopping and cooking and everything else that goes along with getting ready for a wedding.

The first day I was there this is what I saw....how cute is he. This is my nephew
Noah and his school was having cowboy and cowgirl day. It was so good to be reunited with my little buddy again....it is so hard being away from all of our families!!

Noah is my little helper....I can get that kid to help out with anything I want...I
had better be careful with that. We painted about 7 HUGE tree branches white to place around the gymnasium for the wedding and we had 2 teams painting and we
raced to see who could get done first. This was probably the messiest way we could have done this but it was fun anyway.

Now, Savanah couldn't have gone the easy way out and just set up tables no....she had us slaving away(but she is totally worth it) for 3, yes 3 days setting up the gym at the church. We had to call in all the reinforcements.....I think we had about 10 -15 people helping each of the days, and it was still cutting it close. We hung wire across the ceiling to drape fabric and My brother Josh (who really tweaked his backpretty bad) and cousin Tiffany and
Aunt lisa and mom and Aunt Sandy...well you get the picture they got it done.

These were the tiniest helpers we had there that day....and boy were they good helpers. they kept their cousin Sarah very busy and out of the way of all the workers... :)

But let me just tell you a little about the sealing and reception.
So Savanah flew in from Utah on Thursday evening before the sealing on Saturday.
Daniel was supposed to fly in on Friday night before the sealing because he had a test that afternoon. Well as he was pulling up to the airport in Utah he got pulled over and his friend was driving, so Daniel thought I am just going to run in so I can catch my flight. Well the officer had other plans and pulled his gun on Daniel. So needless to say Daniel missed his flight. There was no flight in the morning that would get him to Chicago on time for his sealing so , Daniel had to fly to New York to catch an early enough flight to Chicago.
Well he made it to the Temple in time for the sealing which was delayed an hour.
During the ceremony my dad got to be a witness and the Sealer accidentally called him Brother Ferguson (Fernandez) and he kept calling Savanah, Susanah. But they were sealed and the ceremony was beautiful.

Now the reception was amazing we had a huge buffet of Mexican food, dancing, mingling and loads of fun. But still the DJ kept calling Daniel, David and kept saying that they were the Fernandez's instead of the Rodriguez's. All in all it was a visit filled with tears, laughter, near disaster, and a whole lot of love.

I had to go back and save all of my blog list over every time I changed out my background. But now I don't know how to change the colors of the background that my writing is actually on......how do I do that without having to redo all of the blog list and add the gadgets all over again. The too LITTLE black dress......

So my sister Savanah is getting sealed March 28th in Indiana. So exciting right...well I got online to order my dress early because Savanah picked the only dress (well maybe not the only one) that could not be ordered from the U.S., no it was coming from China. I am on their website and I link to a chart with measurements to make sure and order the right size. I get out my hand dandy tape measure do the deed and order my dress. This weekend I got my dress and I was so excited, the first thing I did was try it on.

IT DOESN"T FIT!!!!!!! We tried for 10 minutes to get that thing zipped. I am so depressed!! I have to get into this dress by the 28th. I can take it to my Aunt Sandy if I don't fit into it by the time I leave for Indiana, but come on I would rather fit in the dress!!

Anyone have any good ideas how I could lose some inches in the next week ?

Shelby....Travis' cousins (Kyle) wife was on the east coast visiting
her family and was kind enough to extend an invite to dinner at
her parent's house. It took a little convincing to get Travis out of the
house as usual....but he agreed and we were on our way.

Now when we arrived we were welcomed with warm hugs
and sincere introductions and then the unthinkable happened.....
Travis was not prepared for this and never saw it coming.......
they gave us a gift.......
Now you may be thinking what a nice gesture...or.....
Why the movie Ever After?.....or
Why would Travis not be prepared for this?.....

Well this is how he felt about it
HE HATES DREW BARRYMORE......HE CAN'T STAND HER.....
HE HAS BANNED ANY MOVIE WITH HER IN IT FROM
EVER ENTERING OUR HOUSE!!!!!!!!!

His cousin Kyle knew this about Travis and made sure that the gift
was offered to us when we arrived. Other than this little incident,
Shelby's family was AWESOME and we had a wonderful visit with them.
And.....I think I found a new traveling partner.....because we all
know Travis does not ever want to go anywhere......So I will be
calling you Jackie. Thanks for the great visit....well except for the incident.

So on Valentine's Day I decided to make some of my cousin
Tiniel's (SHOUTOUT) soft Sugar Cookies.....which were delicious!!!!!
And as usual Sandy was at my feet in the kitchen while I was
rolling out the dough and sprinkling flour on the counter and.....well
let's just say it was messy!!! I look down at my lovely dog
and this is what I found.....what a good little helper I have. It
almost looked like she had done all the work....she was more dirty than me.

So the time has come.....the season of SHEDDING!!!!!
Sandy needed a bath so I head upstairs and get ready....

now you know why I had to prepare.....I was armed with about 5 towels,
1 bag of treats, blow dryer, grocery bag (for hair), brush, and the
camera so you all can be warned about dogs with long hair......but she
is totally worth having!!!!! We just need to take her to get a bath somewhere else!!!

Alright I have been feeling kinda bad that the last 5 or 6 posts don't have Travis in them....so this one is all about Travis......Here are some of my favorite pictures of him. I love you so much Travis and I am so happy that we found eachother.

It's time to seal the deal...

Alright so I guess after almost 4 years of being together.....Travis and I have decided that we like each other enough to seal the deal in the Temple. I am just kidding.... well not about actually getting sealed. We were married by the Bishop of my home ward in Wheatfield Indiana on June 11th 2005 and have not looked back since. So we are going to go through the Salt Lake City Temple on June 11th at 11:00 am. We are both very excited and just wanted everyone to know that it will very soon be official in the way that counts!!! YAY!!!

Where's Grandma....

So we have a lot of traditions with my Fernandez family.....and it all started with my Grandma Narcie. My dad is one of 3 kids and we always as long as I can remember get together on Christmas Eve. Every year plays out pretty much the same too......it goes a little something like this. Now Grandma was not feeling well this Christmas and decided to stay home despite all of our best efforts to get her to the party.

Every year my Uncle Larry makes his amazing Italian sausage and we have our tamales and tacos, deviled eggs ,mashed potatoes and gravy. We also had lasagna and a ham and my Aunt Kathryn made some deliscious funeral potatoes, let me just say there was a ton of food!!! Now after dinner it is a requirement that every person in the house be wearing some kind of head gear...antlers, santa hat, snowflakes, or the bah humbug hat. Once everyone has a hat and is settled in one room.....my cousin David grabs his Guitar or Piano....whichever he decides to bring and we sing every Christmas song known to man before we open our presents. Not just one verse.....every verse of every song!!!! And my Grandma loves it.....but she wasn't there this year (evil laugh) so we only sang half of the songs Woo-Hoo!!!! My nephew Noah performed Rudolph the Red Nosed Reinder too, I will see if I can post that video later....it was so cute.....I loved it!!! After the songs are done we do a gift exchange game between the Girls and then the Boys. Then come the sweaters from my grandma....she sure does know how to find a good sweater. And we ended the evening with my dad saying
" I am going to pack up my sausage and go"
Oh dad...that was the quote of my trip to Indiana...you better believe we gave him a hard time about that at leat he wasn't packing my Uncle Larry's sausage...oh wait he was...hehehe

Oh man do I love the Fernandez Family Traditions.....I can't wait till next year when we can do it all over again. I will say though I would much rather have Grandma there....even if we have to sing every verse of every song. I sure did miss having her there and seeing the joy in her face, having all of the family together and listening to them sing. We may not be a big family but there sure is a lot of love !!!

Every year around Christmas when kids are in town and spirits are high, my mom's family get's together. My mom is one of 12 kids....so as you can imagine we need a pretty good size house to get together in. THANKS AUNT SHARON!!!!! Now when my mom's family meets up there is crazy good food and crazy good fun. I only wish we could get together more often. I can remember the good ol' days before half of them moved to Oklahoma. We would head up to see them almost every weekend after church. Luckily with this visit I got to see the Bailey family...which I haven't seen in about 3 years.....CRAZY!!! They came in from Oklahoma....for a funeral, which is sad and they are in my prayers, but I am happy I finally got to see them. They came to my mom's house the next day and we had boring game of pictionary (only because my dad is a cheater....cough...cough and the totally slautered us!!!!) and an intense game of Catch Phrase. I sure do miss getting to see my family every weekend. My family is constantly changing.....I don't know how long I can keep up with it. Anyways....it was so nice to be able to spend time with everyone and reminisce of the good ol' days.

Alright so my sister Savanah is getting Sealed in March at the Chicago Temple and we decided to head up north to do some wedding shopping....try on some dresses, look at some tux ideas and try and narrow down the color scheme. So Savanah, Katie(cousin) and her daughter Gracie, Feliscia and myself headed to Merriville. It was all very exciting except that we left like 4 hours late(BOO). Well Savanah has a tradition of Taking Noah(nephew) and Tanner(Katie's son) to Chucke Cheese on her visits home....so she had this awesome idea that her fiancee could bring them up to meet us when we were done with wedding things...well Savanah found her dress (had them hold it for her) and the boys met us at Chucke Cheese....then Savanah wanted to go and buy her dress right then so she did. Katie, Josh and I entertained the kids for what we thought would be like 20 minutes. The stores are in the same strip mall....well Savanah was there to greet the boys and then she was there to give them a ride home...I will say though I sure did enjoy her tradition....maybe I will even get credit for it.

So every time I go home to Indiana I take Cheyenne, a flower girl from my wedding, and Noah, my nephew, to a movie and to McDonalds play place. This time we saw The Tales of Despereaux. My mom went with us and was gracious enough to take some pictures for us while we were waiting. Then just as the movie was starting my brother josh surprised us....he is so clever. After the movie we made an extra stop at Jamba Juice and had some orange dream machines...mmmmmmmmm!!!! Noah and Cheyenne had a blast at McDonalds and I had to peel them away from the play place to get her home at a descent hour.....all in all a great tradition that I plan on carrying on for as long as I can. Well I will have to find something other than the play place in a few years.

Alright so before we headed out to Indiana....Travis' work had a wonderful Christmas party everyone was supposed to wear ugly sweaters, then we would be judged and there would be a winner announced and a prize. Travis and I got lost on the way to this party and just about everyone was there when we walked in. Much to our surprise we were the only two wearing ugly sweaters although one person did show up after us in a pretty ugly sweater. We had fun at the thrift store picking our sweaters and took some pictures of the best ones. I would see such an ugly sweater and try it on and much to my surprise....I would like them...kinda. What fun.... well one of us won the ugly sweater competition and $20 (both sweaters only cost us $6 awesome)...can you guess who it was. I don't think you will have much trouble!!!!!

Best Seat in the House

Our friend Scott Janik was out on a date one day and his lady friend noticed a table in the corner.....went to check it out and entered his name in a drawing. A short while later he heard his name and he won the Best Seat in the House for Monday night Football at Buffalo Wild Wings. Not only did he win the best seat in the house but he won a Limo ride for himself and 5 friends to Buffalo Wild Wings. Between the 6 of us we had a $130 dollars worth of free food to eat. I don't think I had ever been so full in my life. It was a lot of fun and while we were there we spotted the table again....so we went and put our names in to see if we could win anything and Travis won 2 movie tickets to see The day the Earth stood still before it came out....at the I Max theatre!!!! Which if I may say so myself was not as good as I thought it would be from the previews. But we didn't have to pay to see it so I wasn't to upset that we had to sit through the movie.

Alright, I am sorry that our blog is so boring. But, truth be told....our lives are kinda boring. Actually we have been very busy.....but yeah...just with boring stuff. I'll show you...Travis and I have new callings in our church (BORING). I am the Compassionate Service leader and Travis is an activities director. We spend Monday nights at our friends the Pechins....for some dinner and Settlers of Catan!!!! On Tuesday's we play Ultimate frisbee (yawn). On Wednesday the missionaries come over for some dinner and games...it's their P-day! On Thursday...more Ultimate frisbee. I told you we don't do much around here. Since we don't do much we don't take pictures. BORING....are you still with me? I know what we need....KIDS!!!! Then we have reason to take pictures. I don't know if that will happen....but for the good of the Blog it just might. I'll post again in another month....

Travis did not approve of this message.....he thinks we are pretty exciting...I think he's in denial. Travis also does not think he's in denial....BORING!!!!!

First of all Megan....I think you tagged the only seven people I know that have blogs. Second...i am not good at figuring things out on the computer, so the people I tagged are not linked....oops now I know Travis would want me to tell you how stubborn I am but I won't...hehehe Some of these things you may already know...here goes nothin...

1. I think I am a hypochondriac!!! It's true...I always have something wrong with me. Just ask Travis...I am constantly asking him to feel my forehead, look at my throat and check my bumps...but it doesn't end there. I always think there is something wrong with our dog too. I would probably always think there is something wrong with Travis too.....but he is never sick!!!! Bah...that would be the life... to never be sick.

2. I have a photographic memory. Even when I am not intentionally looking for something...if I just see it in passing, I will remember where it was. This comes in VERY handy being married to Travis. He NEVER remembers where he puts anything. He is constantly asking me where his wallet, the car keys and pieces of his uniform are. 99% of the time...I will tell him exactly where they are....on the coffee table next to the laptop under the newspaper. Should I ever lose my memory...we may be in some trouble.

3. I love organizing....making sure everything has a place. Hey, maybe we won't be in trouble...I just need to remember the place, actually we would be in trouble because Travis does not share in my exceeding joy that everything should have a place. There is just something about having movies or books alphabetized, an updated filing cabinet, and a closet in order by length of the sleeves that brings me great joy.

4. I love entertaining...I get this from my mother. Travis hates this about me. Why does he hate this?...well let me tell you...I will spend the entire day cooking, planning, and perfecting my house. That is just the beginning, I will ask people to bring snacks and still I will make at least 5 things myself, get 5 different kinds of drinks, get toys for the kids, invite more than I can fit in my house and still want to do this every weekend. I just love having company over.

5. I hate working out at home. I LOVE going to a good step aerobics class or playing some ultimate frisbee,even hitting the racquetball court with Travis, but I hate working out at home alone BORING, and I will not work out in from of Travis. I don't know what it is...but I don't want him to ever see me do a sit-up or push-up. I just feel silly if he is there...Now if I had a friend come over...I would work out everyday with her...but I am not so lucky. I know...I am silly

6. I love music...but I am horrible at remembering lyrics and who sings the song. Yep....I have a great photographic memory but I am awful at remembering peoples names and dates and anything that is said or written. So I often mess up the lyrics and occasionally put some of my very own in there. I also love to tease Travis and sing a love song to him....completely off key while keeping a straight face.

7. I love taking pictures. Well, I am not very good at this when it is just me and Travis...mostly because we don't really go anywhere or do anything. But when we do I will take at least 150 pictures and that's only if we are there a few days. I will hit the 300's if we are there a week!!! I just love capturing memories. I would love to have career in photography one day. But I really have no idea what I am doing...just point and shoot and shoot and shoot and shoot...

Two Sarah's don't make a right

This last weekend my friends Glenn and Sarah were coming up to our house on Sunday, from Virginia. During church I had noticed that I missed a call from Sarah. I didn't even look at the number and just hit send 2 times to call her back. She didn't answer and I left a message that went something like this.

" Hey pregnant Sarah it's not pregnant Sarah. I missed your call and now you have missed mine, So call me back and maybe I won't miss it. "

Well about 5 minutes went by and my phone rang, I saw Sarah's name and answered. Well she sounded different and I was confused...that's because it was Travis' sister Sarah in Utah. I was so embarrased... I started panicking...how do I get out of this one...then she proceeds to tell me that she has scheduled an ultrasound date to discover the sex of her baby. PHEW......I was off the hook...I was so panicked, that I forgot she was pregnant, so my voicemail that I left for the wrong Sarah worked!!! I continued talking to her as if nothing happened at all.
This only worked for a few minutes because Travis and Savanah (my sister) were in the car with me when I called Sarah Kowallis (or so I thought) and left the message. So when I mentioned Travis sisters kids, Travis started going off in the background "oh your on the phone with that Sarah...I thought you were talking to the other Sarah" Well of course Sarah heard him and I had to explain what happened.... Yes I was busted. It was pretty funny the whole thing and I am sorry if this whole entry just confused you but it gave all of us a good laugh.

Well, I have been keeping Travis up at night for the past week. Not from that you silly....from coughing!!! I would have gone to the Dr. sooner for it too, except I already had an appointment scheduled for today...So I waited! I don't know about you but I hate going to the Doctor. That's not saying I don't like my Dr., because I do very much but I just don't like being there. But, I went anyway...and I have Bronchitis....poor poor me!!! So I came home and indulged in some Chocolate(My answer for everything), coughed a lot, and took a nap.
The funny thing about not liking the Doctor is that I always have something wrong with me!!! I am the biggest hypochondriac around!!! I am always asking Travis to look at moles, bumps, my throat and to feel my forehead. It's pretty bad... Whenever I call him into a room as soon as he hears, "Can you look at this for me?" (which he hears a lot) He gives me the sigh of death and laughs at me....don't lie your laughing right now aren't you? This will make you laugh more....I am the same way with Sandy (our dog). I always worry that something is wrong with her. For instance, one time I was worried because she had discharge( boogers) from her eyes(a lot more than normal) so I took her to the vet and she had an eye infection...and we found out she has allergies. So I was right in worrying...I can only imagine how worrisome I will be when we have children...I am going to be calling my mom all the time!!!! HOW DO YOU STAY SANE AS A MOTHERS? Oh my goodness.....just stay healthy ALL OF YOU!!!

I called my mom today to talk about the show Closer....have you seen it? When I was talking to her my nephew (5 years old) starts talking to my mom and I am just sitting there. So I asked my mom to deliver a message to Noah for me..... and it went something like this.....When Aunt Sarah is talking to Grandma Barbie you just need to zip it until she is done. So she told him and he was shocked that I would really say something like that, so he had to get on the phone himself and see if it was true? Little did I know this would strike up an hour long conversation with him. He has never talked to me for that long...maybe...20 minutes tops!!!!
We talked about his new "race car" and the race he was in that he won a trophy for getting first place. He told me about all the mods his car had...it could shoot bullets and had blades that came out the side for cutting things(but they were broken at the time). He then told me about the bad guy he had to race "X"!!!!! Now "X" had killed his personal driving instructor and he was worried that he would kill his new teacher so we came up with about 20 plans to rid the world of "X".Then much to my dismay Noah told me that "X" was on his way to my house and I had to hide. So I did...in the closet...and I had to whisper so he wouldn't find me. He then said "Do you remember how I told you Batman was my friend? Well I have his number and you should call him to come help you." Well as you can imagine this brought me great joy so I asked what the number was. And he told me "11" I ask if that is the whole number...."2"...is that the whole number....."34" I ask again is that the whole number and he says "Yes and tell him I said to bring the batmobile!" It was so hard for me not to laugh. So he tells me to call him back when I get off the phone with Batman....so I did and we talked for a few more minutes and he had to go to school. It was the best conversation ever. Man I love that kid!!

Travis and I had some really exciting news revealed to us this weekend that we had to share with somebody!!! So I called my mom to tell her...she was the first that I wanted to tell! However, my brother Jason answered the phone. He was with my mom and dad so it was all good...here is our conversation...

Jason: "Hey Sarah how's it going?"
Sarah: "Pretty good Ja...I have some exciting news!!!"
Jason: "Tell me about it"
Sarah: "YOU'RE GONNA BE AN UNCLE!!!!!!"
Jason: "I'm gonna be an Uncle....?"
To which my mom starts screaming in the background....Your gonna be an Uncle...Oh my gosh...
Sarah: "Just kidding....SUCKA!!!!!"
Jason: "What you're just kidding...that's not funny Sarah"
I was threatened by my mother that if I ever did that again she would have to beat me silly...

It was the most perfect set-up ever.... But I really did have exciting news! So I told them that Travis and I had met with our Bishop and he said that we could be sealed in the Temple within the next couple of months. Isn't that so exciting? Well then, when Travis and I got home we had a lot of decisions to make. Where do we get sealed...
Temple Square: My family would fly out...All of our families would be together.... but we would have to wait until Spring
Chicago Temple: My parents were sealed there...we would have a winter wedding (Christmas)...only my family would be there
Washington DC Temple: We could go ASAP...it would probably be just Travis and I
I think we are leaning towards Temple Square with both of our families...Anyways it's really exciting news and I just wanted to share it with all those that I care about(that's you crazy).

Today while I was updating our filing cabinet, I ran across an old notebook and a file labeled love notes. I didn't have time to go through any of it at the time, but later in the evening, when Travis was home, I suggested going through them together. It was such a blast. We used to leave notes for each other all the time. I don't think I have left a note for Travis in almost a year. We decided that we need to leave more notes, it brought back such great memories of everything that we had been through. We had fun putting the notes to different times in our lives. Some were funny, some were confusing, and some just made me fall in love with him all over again. Anyways it was a lot of fun taking a stroll down memory lane.

My little brother Jason has been going through a bit of a rough patch back in the ol' Homestead of Indiana. So after about 3 months of my gentle persuading he is going to come and live with me and Travis. I just wanted to say how excited I am, he is the most amazing person. 1. He is the hardest worker I know 2. He loves animals 3. I am his favorite sister (It's true I heard it straight from my mouth and I meant it) 4. He hates contention and will always lighten the mood when it's tense 5. He is a great singer...he does a great Elvis impression 5. He is a great dancer 6. He is great with electronics 7. He is handsome 8. He is great with cars too 9. I love his laugh 10. He is really mello and laid back 11. He has a lot of muscles...boy I could go on forever but you don't need to hear all the reasons I love my brother and why I am so excited I just am!!!

My big brother Josh cam all the way from Las Vegas to visit us here on the east coast. Josh and I headed up to New Jersey (3 1/2 bours) to visit my little sister Savanah. We of course had to hit up New York while we were there and had quite an experience while there....let me tell you
All over New York (well Canal St.) there are street vendors. It was packed with shops and people yelling to get you to stop at their shops. It was intense!!! There were also little asian women standing with cards and on these cards were pictures of hand bags, clutches and purses. Well a couple tries to stop us but we didn't see anything interesting. But one lady had some good pictures so we thought we would give it a try. So we followed her like 4 blocks and she told us only 2 could come in and we were like but there are 4 of us. We thought we would just all 4 go in anyway. Then we walk up to a mini-van and she tells Josh and Jaz (savanah's boyfriend) to wait at the end of the block (Scary....I was thinking why lady....) then she says "Go to end of block, look for police..no stand by van." AAAAWWW there is some shady dealing going on here!!! So they leave and Savanah and I get in this van jam packed with purses. We had a total of 4 purses between the two of us that we liked...all "Coach" (yeah right)! We haggled with her for like 15 minutes...which was fun!!! Decided on a price and she got out her walkie-talkie asked if the coast was clear to 2 old asian men sitting on lawn chairs a block away and practically pushed us out of the van. It was quite the experience!!!! Fun, exciting and scary all at the same time!!!
Anyways, back to Josh we saw New York, spent a day in Washington D.C., played a few intense games of Ultimate Frisbee (WHICH JOSH ROCKS AT), slept in EVERYDAY, played Halo, and had some friends over for game night. Now I am going through Josh withdrawals and can't wait till I get some more family time. I have the best family in the world and I don't live close to any of them....BUMMER!!!!! Well at least we have our friends to hang out with....oh wait no we don't..they are all over the US too!!! We miss all you guys!

Travis' sister Jenny and her family (Wes-hubby, Ethan-son and Mariah-baby) came to the east coast for an experience of a lifetime....Staying at our house, alright alright maybe it was to experience everything else in Maryland, New York and Virginia. We were also fortunate enough to have Jenny's Mother and Father-in-law stay with us too. During their few days here we were forced to go to DC 2 times and see the The National Museum of Natural History, Air and Spave Museum, Washington memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Capitol building, White house and Arlington cemetery. I know poor me right....yeah right I was in the zone. I not only have to talk Travis into seeing the sights but then I have to drag him there and we are lucky to be at each place (if I am lucky 2 places) for about 10 minutes each. He is a speed sight seer!!!!!

We also got to head to Virginia and play at Busch Gardens...That was a blast they have the best roller coaster I have ever been on....THE GRIFFON!!!! Phew that took a whole day 3 1/2 hours there, the park and the drive back home. Going south was not enough, we also headed north and after about $30 in tolls we made it to New York City, Wow...there is definitely not enough time in one day to see all of that city. While there we went to Ground zero, Central park, Time square, and we got to experience the subway...SCARY!!!! Travis and I even had our picture drawn by an artist in Central Park..

Yes that's right we did all of this in 4 days....then they headed to upstate New York to see some more sights. Travis and I went back to our normal...boring lives and Sandy (the dog) was happy to finally have her parents back. Well Paskett's it was a blast having you here and we hope to get you again one day. We miss you guys.

Indiana Surprise Comedy

My sister Feliscia called me one day and told me that my brother Josh, who lives in Las Vegas, was flying to Indiana to surprise my mom and dad. Feliscia set it up that all the family in Indiana would meet for some bowling at 7 Pm that evening, at which...Josh would walk in and SURPRISE!!! The morning josh was to fly into Chicago I got up at 3:30 in the morning and started the drive to Indiana. Feliscia had to work before going to pick up Josh at the airport and Jacob, my little bro, met Feliscia to pick him up. I called Feliscia's co-worker to set up a place to surprise them and Jamba juice was the target. I arrived at Jamba Juice before my family ordered my drink and went to the car to wait. Just as planned they arrived and went in to order a drink and I walked in behind to which they non chalantly say "hey Sarah" then it kicks in that I am not suppose to be there and the surprise was a hit. So we were off to pick up Josh at Midway airport. We pull over in the cell phone waiting lot and Jacob and I crawl into the trunk to surprise Josh. We pull up to pick him up and can't find the US Airways area....yup that's right we were at the wrong airport. Jacob and I crawl out of the trunk and we head to O'Hare. On the way a call had to be made to tell our parents that we were late and push back the meeting time an hour. This was no easy feat we could not tell them why, remember they had no idea Josh and I were in town, and my dad had to go to work at 4 in the mornin. But we finally convinced them. When we get close again Jacob and I crawl back into the trunk...big mistake, you see Jacob was a little gassy and I can tell you now, from experience, when someone farts in the trunk of a car....there is nowhere for the fumes to escape and it lingers for what seems like forever. Torture in the trunk!!!! We finally arrive and there is Josh he opens the trunk and we pop out SURPRISE. However Josh was not the only one we surprised...the security at the airport also was surprised...thankfully after we got out of the trunk and hugged Josh the look of horror turned to a smile and he walked away....PHEW!!!! We head to the bowling alley only to take a wrong exit and get stuck in Chicago traffic. Again we are going to be late for the second meeting time. We eventually find our way back and when my mom calls from the bowling alley we have to lie again...now we "have a flat tire" and we will be 15 or 20 minutes late. We finally arrive at the bowling alley 35 minutes late and Feliscia and Jacob go in alone. Josh and I sneak around to a second door and wait a few minutes....Josh walks up and my dad sees him first and laughs and says " this is the big surprise" to which my mom looks right at Josh and says "what's the surprise" realizes that it's Josh and starts balling like a baby. Then I wait a few more minutes walk up behind her and give her a big hug to where she starts balling again. It was a blast. So we had to call my sister Savanah, the only one missing now. She was so upset that everyone was together except her that she decides to confide in me that she is going to buy a ticket and fly in to surprise Mom and Dad too. So she flies in late Saturday night and we surprise my Mom at church on Sunday. We drove seperate and my mom was already seated so Savanah walks up and says " excise me is anyone sitting here?" to which my mom starts balling yet another time. It was the best surprise in the world. We spent a very fun week together playing games and telling stories, laughing the entire time. Family is the best thing in the world.

Welcome to our blog...I can't believe we did it...let me catch you up...After being married for a short 6 months Travis decided (well I guessed I helped him) to sign on to the Airforce. In March of 06’ he went through Basic training for 2 ½ months while I lived with Peggy and Richard (the in-laws) in Idaho. Some of his family and I were able to go to his basic training graduation in San Antonio, TX and spend a much needed week with him, he then went on to California for a month before I was able to join him. Once settled in our own house and together again., we decided to have an addition to our family. So we bought a puppy…Sandy and boy did things change. Just like that we were parents…Potty training…teaching….time-out in the corner. But the end result was a great friend and companion to Travis and I. We spent about 16 months on the west coast , me a dental assistant and Travis doing his own thing. The first 9 months was pretty quiet and we kept to ourselves…then we met some wonderful people…You know who you are…we grew very close to our new friends only to have to say goodbye after a very short few months. To all of our friends made we miss you very much. Wouldn't you know it Travis was getting transferred ,we were moving again…unfortunately not together…again. Travis was off to Texas again this time for 4 months. I began my journey across the country making stops along the way. I spent a wonderful month with Travis’ family and the rest of the time in Indiana with my family. We were finally reunited again, on the east coast this time, after a very long 4 months of internet movie dates and endless phone conversations. Again our lives are back to normal we are settled and our small family is back together as it was. To all that we have met and spent time with…you have touched our lives in a way unimaginable. We will always remember you, hope to keep in touch ,and who knows maybe one day our lives will intertwine again.
